About CIASA

Following liaison with the South Australian Employer's Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Computer Industry Association of South Australia was formed on the 28th July, 1997 at a public meeting that was attended by nearly one hundred interested participants.

The Association was formally ratified on the 4th August, 1997.

The Association is seen as being an ‘umbrella’ organisation working to improve the business practices of computer wholesalers, retailers and professionals.

The Association provides a forum for Members to keep up-to-date on the latest products and trends, to exchange relevant industry information, and to ‘network’ their goods and services to the betterment of the industry generally.

The Association also sees itself as having an important role as a lobby group with the Government on behalf of its Members when this is needed.

The Association believes very strongly in business and ethical excellence and seeks to demonstrate and encourage honest practices within the computer industry in South Australia, which, like every other State, has its share of unscrupulous operators. In conjunction with this, should the need arise, the Association also has the role of acting as an independent sounding board for both business and the public alike.

In addition, recognising that the general public is entitled to fair and honest representation of the goods and services they are buying, the Association is designed as a reference point for the public seeking impartial information, advice and recommendations.

Therefore, the Computer Industry Association of South Australia is one that provides a forum for its Members to network within the industry, keep informed about relative topics, and seek the highest standard of work ethic - thereby providing a service to both its Members and the buying public alike.

The object of this is to acknowledge compliance, to raise business awareness and gain public confidence.
  • The Association is unique in its aim to positively affect the performance of the whole computer industry in South Australia and to this end is strengthened by having a Membership that represents a cross-section of experience within the industry.
  • The Association is a local organization with local priorities, not a national organization with broad interests, and provides a forum for genuine improvement within the computer industry in South Australia to the benefit of its Members and the public alike.
  • The Association provides a website contact for easy access to the resources of the Association by the public.
The Association provides independent and impartial advice, and this is a service that has been previously unavailable or hard to find.
The Association also offers an independent consulting service to both its Members and the public in order to avoid misunderstandings that may lead to litigation.
